Kindergarten News!

The Final Days…

I can’t believe the last few days are here! I just have a couple of reminders for you.

*No homework this week! J

*Kinder promotion will be on Wednesday, June 7th @ 10:00 AM in the Multipurpose Room. Refreshments will follow on the Kinder playground. Your child will wear their self-portrait t-shirt, which is coming home today.

*The last day of school (June 8th) is a half day. Dismissal will be at 12:50 PM and there will be NO afternoon Safekey. We are asking that each child bring a lunch from home, as we will have a picnic on the playground to celebrate our last day. School lunch will not be served.

*We are completely out of snack. L If you would like to send in something small for us to share this last week, it would be greatly appreciated!

Kindergarten News

Dates and Reminders


Water Day- 5/26 @ 9:30 AM 
This will be on the kindergarten playground.  We will need volunteers for this event.  Please sign up on the back of our playground door if you haven't already done so!

Kindergarten Promotion- 6/7 @ 10:00 AM 
Our promotion ceremony will be held in the multipurpose/lunch room.  Students will wear our special kid drawn shirts or a royal blue shirt.  We will perform with Ms. Fiscus, Mrs. Swanson and Mrs. Hall's class.

Shoe Boxes- All students will need an empty shoe box for our time capsule project, please make sure your child has their project turned in by Tuesday May 30th!

What We are Learning

Thematic Big Book/Shared Reading- This week we will learn about sharks! 
Phonics- We will work on handwriting, letter sounds and using letters and sounds to spell and read words.  
Writing- We are working on writing stories with details.   
Math-We will continue to review shapes and work on solving story problems.

News of the Week

Thank you all so much for an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week!  I am truly humbled by all the kind notes and sweet gifts.  I am so lucky to spend my days with your children doing a job that I absolutely love.  You are the best. :)

Dates and Reminders

Monday- We will participate in the blue-ribbon photo 1st thing Monday morning. Please make sure that your child wears his or her blue-ribbon shirt or a navy-blue shirt to school on Monday.
 Please bring your child straight into the building Monday morning and please don't be late.  Thank you so much!

Please feel free to send grandma, aunt or dad if mom can't make it.  We will be making gifts for mom's and all students will need a glass jar ASAP!   The jars can be from anything- jelly, spaghetti, pickles, or even mason jars.  Please send the jars as soon as possible.  Please clean the jar and remove the label before sending it in.  Thank you! 

Friday Spirit Day has been changed to Hawaiian Day, there is no spirit day on the 19th, and I'll keep you updated on any other changes.  Thanks for your understanding. :)

Math-We will review measuring and work on quickly solving addition and subtraction problems.

Kindergarten News

Kinder Field Day -  Thanks so much to everyone who came out and helped with Kindergarten Field Day, we could not have done it without you! The kids had a great time even with the crazy wind!

This is a small event that will take place in our classroom. We will read a story and sing a song, both will make you cry! What We are Learning

Phonics- We will work on handwriting, letter sounds and using letters and sounds to spell and read words.  This week we will focus on -ing words.
Writing- This week will will work on the writing process.  We will focus on editing our work.  All students need to be able to write about an event, including characters, setting and three details.   
Math-This week we will review measuring and work on quickly solving addition and subtraction problems.
